Easter outfits

I'm still getting use to the weather in Oregon. I had it all planned out: I was going to take darling spring photos of the kids at the park this morning. I woke up, began to get everyone ready and then I looked outside to see a gloomy, rainy day. No beautiful spring pictures today. But, I had us go outside for a few minutes just to snap a photo in between the rain. Thanks mom for the outfits!!!

Also, I made the necklace I'm wearing. I will be making some of several color combos and selling them on Etsy soon.
Can you believe this CHUNKY 4 month old?!?!

Spring Break...

Okay, the truth is, we were so busy having fun that I forgot to take any pictures. The weather was great for most of the week so we spent our days playing outside, playing with friends, and staying busy. My favorite thing we did? We went to Silver Falls, my personal favorite place to be in Oregon. We couldn't see too much because I had James in the stroller but it was so relaxing. Sam has asked every day since, "We go water falls?"
Also, Phil and I got the wonderful opportunity yesterday to go to the Portland Temple, where we were married over 10 years ago. It was a wonderful experience.

Life with Sam

I know, James is now 4 months old now. A whole month without a new blog post. Phil was working 2 jobs for a total of 13 hours of work a day plus Saturdays. He's down to one 40 hour a week job. So life is back to somewhat normal.

Here's what my life with Sam is like...

playing hide and seek

trying on my sunglasses, my shoes, and Lizzy's headband

Vacuuming naked

Screaming because I won't let him vacuum

more cleaning

asleep on the couch

James is 3 months old

James is 3 months old today.
He's sweet, he's cuddly, and we love having him here.

--------------------

By-the-way, I've lost 44 lbs in 3 months
(it would have been more if I didn't have some freak obsession with chocolate.)

The girl with the chocolate hair.

A few days ago I bought a hair dye box from the grocery store and dyed my hair. Brown. Boring brown. My hair was a few different shades and I was trying to make it uniform. Brown was the easiest, so I went for it, but I wasn't necessarily excited about it. The next morning I decided I needed a woman's opinion on my hair so I pulled it out of it's permanent bun and started a video call skype to my sis in Scotland. As soon as she saw me she exclaimed, "Oh! I love your hair Bec. I'm glad you went with chocolate brown, it looks great on you."

Chocolate brown. I can live with that. Chocolate is good, chocolate is happiness and richness and yummy. Now I can't stop thinking about my chocolate hair. I look in the mirror and think, "that's not just brown, that's chocolate brown." I find myself thinking about what shirt would look best with my chocolate colored hair. So, thanks Mary, thanks for helping me see something I once thought boring as exciting and luxurious. If only it were eatable!
