lemEnade stand

On Friday my friend Becca and I got our kids together for a lemonade stand. They made a poster "lemenade stand only 25 cents." We set up at the entrance of a park on a street that had a nice bike lane so people could pull over and we knew people would be going by on their way home from work. It was so much fun! They held their poster and yelled "lemonade only 25 cents!" as the cars drove by. Some would honk or wave and they were confused why everyone didn't stop. At first they weren't sure how to go about giving out the lemonade. They had ice, fresh lemons, and of course the lemonade. They went through several cups at first until they divided the jobs up among each person. Little 2 year old Mitchell was in charge of putting the lemons in the cups. They sometimes argued about who got to do what but it was very good for them to work together. They also got tired of holding the poster so they would take turns doing that too. I believe they learned a lot, I know they had fun and I think we will make this an annual tradition. The people that stopped thought it was great and they were getting a deal...lemonade for only 25 cents now days...that's a steal! They made $13 in the hour and half they were out. The girls gave Mitchell $1 for his lemon help and they each kept $4 for themselves. This was so much fun! The funniest moment was when they would each "sample" the product and a few times they unknowingly tried to recycle those cups by giving them to paying customers. You should do this too! Here's a few photo's...

Looks like they had a lot of fun! Morgan is taking swim lessons this summer. She has her first "swim meet" on Thursday. We will see how it goes.

I felt so sad that I missed this grand event. Glad I could see the pictures. I'm so proud of all the little businesswomen and men not to mention the moms!!!
